A project focused on showcasing the stories of digital nomads who have chosen Tenerife as their ideal place to live and work.
Research and Preparation:
Material collected over the course of a year was analyzed and organized to shape the video’s narrative. Using a database, digital nomads were contacted and invited to participate in interviews, where the project and its purpose were explained.
Simultaneously, locations across the island were selected and coordinated to capture the diversity and appeal of Tenerife.
The primary challenge was aligning the schedules of the participants with the selected locations. Not all locations were open spaces; many included coworking spaces and venues that kindly offered their facilities for the project.
Adding to the complexity, the entire production had to be completed in less than five days. During this short timeframe, it was essential to organize the participation of digital nomads, film at the agreed locations, capture activities, manage transportation, and gather additional b-roll material to enrich the video narrative.
Ensuring the security of the recorded footage was another significant challenge, especially since my office was located in Barcelona. This required implementing a reliable and efficient remote backup system.
To address this issue, a secondary backup device was acquired. This equipment was designed to automatically create backups during filming, saving the data directly onto a computer while simultaneously transferring it to a cloud server. This ensured the protection and availability of the recorded material at all times.
Despite the constraints, effective planning ensured the capture of high-quality content that showcased both the stories and the unique settings that make Tenerife an exceptional destination.
